Do we have a tan or are we Rusty!!!!!!!

Well hello again finally managed to get a signal for the laptop only been 3 days I was beginning to get withdrawal symptoms.

Any way to update you this is the story so far. We left Gurnett Aqueduct Friday morning in shorts and T shirts 20 minutes into the journey we were donning wetties and we still got soaked. Got to Bosley Locks and needless to say there was a queue all going down and we were at the back of it. We never seem to meet a boat coming up so once again it was fill up each lock before we could get in, our system was working so well we caught up with the boat in front, that will teach us to be efficient. We got to the bottom lock and while it was emptying I had a quick look to see if there was a space on the 48 hour mooring I could see 2 boats already on the mooring and there was a nice space for us just round the corner. I shut the lock gates after Paul and walked the tow path to the spot I had thought would do us for the weekend. As Paul was coming round the corner he shouted me that the throttle cable had broken so he then had to do all his manoeuvring in tick over, a chap on a boat hearing this offered to help him in but Paul managed it with a little help from me putting my weight behind the centre rope.
Canopy was put up then it was into the engine bay to see what was what (even the TV ariel took second place). Cable was definitely broken so Paul stripped it out with much muttering, then it was on the phone to RCR. The lady on the other end of the phone was very helpful and half an hour later the engineer rang us for our exact location, bet he was cursing us as we were nearly a mile away from the nearest road. He said he would be with us just after 4 after another call to say he was held up in traffic he arrived just after 5. Paul explained to Shaun that it would be a nightmare of a job to get the control mechanism back in to the housing as the builders don't think that it will ever have to be removed for service or repair. So Paul fitted the cable with Shaun supping his tea and supervising Paul's work. Various adjustments were made, engine started up and hey presto everything back to normal again. Where would we be without RCR total cost of the job £20 for the cable.
The rest of the weekend went by in a round of sunshine and showers with me still trying to get out on the laptop, Paul did suggest I walk up the top of the hill opposite but I told him in no uncertain terms if he wanted to write the blog HE could walk to the top of the hill and as you can see by the silence for the past 3 days he didn't.
Saturday was spent sorting out the CCTV camera and although everything is in position and in working order to view the screen in its correct position we need to get a longer phono lead sure we will find one on our way down. Its a shame that the radio control didn't work I'm sure there will be a mark 2 somewhere along the line.
Plenty of fishing was done with a few roach caught and a nice carp. MOTOGP was watched in bed as it was on at 10pm.
This morning we left Bosley already in our wetties due to a light drizzle. The showers were very intermittent until we pulled into Heritage when there was a hailstorm with thunder and lightening. Stair rods doesn't describe the ferocity of the rain it was more like broom handles. We took shelter in the shop and ended up spending on more than just the diesel. The water level was very low and we kept scraping the bottom in places. We have finally ended up moored just out of the junction with the T & M. right by the train line but we had to stop as the larder was empty. Trip to Tesco with the trolley and we are now settled for the night will go through the tunnel tomorrow. I must say we have really enjoyed the Macclesfield canal although sometimes the moorings are few and far between. The scenery is something else and it is a relatively quiet canal with hardly any hire boats.
