Tixall

Well the weekend flew by with the weather being lovely Paul managed to get the other side of the boat rubbed down and blacked then helped Graham with the painting on his boat from the gunnel to the rubbing strake, then it was sit on the tow path with a glass or two and watch the world go by. Graham and Betty did really well selling their wares, they have a traders licence and do a good turn over in tyre fenders and hand knitted baby stuff.

We left it a bit late this morning before setting off for Tixall but at the lock a lady told us it was busy there which caused a bit of panic as what would I do if we couldn't get in there. As luck would have it we found a space big enough for both boats opposite the “wide” so we have a nice out look and the boys will be happy fishing in this spot.

So this is my outlook for the next few days

Here are our friends just pulling in

Will have to make the most of the next couple of days as they will be leaving us on Wednesday to continue their journey towards Manchester.

It is absolutely heaving here now with no spaces left at all would appear that some people are like us and spend a week here relaxing and taking advantage of the local attractions like Shugborough Hall and the town of Stafford close by.

Was a bit put out when I found out that there is an open air concert at Shugborough Hall this weekend featuring the music of Queen (my favourite band) and a firework display. I will be in Surrey sods law that, Paul no doubt will be on the back of the boat listening to the music in the back ground and watching the fireworks all for free.
