Bridge 98

We said goodbye to Tixall wide this morning and after 8 days there it wasn't a sad farewell. Paul wants to find some decent fishing somewhere, we have enough tins of Spam to feed the fish in the whole canal network.

Once again the scenery has been lovely and as we have never ventured farther than Tixall it is all new to us. Scared this heron and just managed to get a snap as it landed in a tree.

As with a lot of places there are some lovely houses along the way.

Bet they have a gardener to keep this lawn cut.

When we got to Bridge 98 we managed to get moored up then we got the bus into Stafford. Paul needed to get a couple of things so I popped into Tesco for the shopping while Paul did his own thing. He then caught up with me in the supermarket, surprisingly enough when we got to the checkout there seemed to be quite a few items that I didn't put in the trolley, funny, that I thought Paul didn't like shopping.

Have found that it is quite shallow in places and we have pushed mud on a couple of occasions.

Penkridge is the next stop for the services, whether we stay overnight or not depends on the time we get there tomorrow.

Hi Lyn and Paul
Well worth stopping at Penkridge for the market. Up about four locks there is a nice mooring and not too long a walk to town.

Thanks for that Dot as you can see we did the market and had a good wander.
