Friday afternoon saw us in The Bridge pub having a swift half and chatting to the locals, who should walk in but Alan and Francis nb Lazy Days. We haven't seen them since last year so it was a lovely to meet up again. So the half turned into a pint or two and as we parted company we arranged for them to come aboard Saturday for a cuppa. They went off to the Indian in the village while we had a meal on the boat. Must try this restaurant as we hear it is a good one.
Saturday dawned wet and windy but there was a long enough break in the weather for us to go to the village for bread and milk. We popped into the Antique shop and were saddened to hear that it was up for sale. The gentleman that owned it was retiring through ill health and the fact that they haven't really made any money for about 5 years. On our last visit we bought a really nice lamp and were hoping to grab another bargain. Yes, there were some bargains to be had but most were better suited to a house rather than a boat. In the afternoon Alan and Francis came aboard saw the alterations and had a cuppa we then decided to go and have a pint in the village so walked to The Admiral which is by the church. Very nice place which does food as well. After a couple of drinks it was back to the Bridge for a final pint. (does two pubs constitute a pub crawl?) We had a nice time thank you both.
Today yet another blustery day Paul has changed one of the belts on the engine and sorted out the air filter he is now watching MOTOGP. Plan is to move up to Wheaton Aston tomorrow for fuel then travel till we find a nice mooring of course if it rains we wont be going anywhere.
