Yesterday we left Penkridge going through Gailey. we had a quick stop here to pop in the shop which is in this lovely roundel.
Then it was on to Cross Green where we spent the night, a short walk from The Fox and Anchor pub.
No one else at this spot they all seemed to be round the corner on the 48hour moorings. We did go to the pub for a meal but weren't impressed with our choices and like most things these days it was quite expensive. So think we will give that pub a miss on the way back.
When we got to Autherly junction we had a quick moor up so I could pop to Morrison's only took 10 mins each way must mark that in my Nicholson's. Once on the Shroppie it was a gentle cruise in the sunshine. Most of the boat traffic appeared to be going in the opposite direction and luckily we managed to get through the narrows just past bridge 4 with out meeting anyone. Bridge 10 is very ornate, this leads to Chillington Hall.
Also saw another heron in a tree and it didn't even worry about us as we went by.
We are now moored up in Brewood just past Countrywide cruisers where we have a decent TV signal and 3g on the dongle. Settled here for the weekend.
Oh yes this is the fish Paul caught the other evening, not massive but a nice fish all the same.

If you're at Brewood and like a good curry go try the Curry Inn, just opposite the church. Really is the business and Sam the boss is a really nice guy.
