Ker- ching and Ker-crash

Ker-ching because it was the last visit to the dentist today and the gold crowns are now in place, and Ker-crash because someone has just hit us up the arse. It is 8pm pitch dark and a boat has just come under the bridge and whacked us one. Companion set went crashing, 2 bits of Ladro hit the deck, the dogs thought the end of the world had come and Paul said " what the ****k was that". Rushing to the back of the boat there was a headlight virtually on our cruiser stern, the back of the boat was about 6ft from the tow path the impact had snapped the rope we were tied too. I was shaking like a leaf. Paul went out to see what was up and the response was "I think there is something round my prop" and oh yes there was a comment like "well the boat is 70 ft long" now what that had to do with anything I don't know. We have checked for external damage, repositioned the button which had come loose and now the guy has continued on his way, where he is heading in the dark goodness only knows, knew there was a reason to moor at least 150ft from the bridge, obviously this isn't the case when you get nutters like him travelling in the pitch black.
Anyway we are all set for our journey tomorrow, have enough food on board to feed an army as we have been shopping every day. Monday to get dog food and a few bits, yesterday I had my hair cut (new look for me now have shortish hair first time in years) more shopping got and today Paul went to the dentist. He has been suffering so much this past few weeks with the pain of his sensitive teeth that we have gone through boxes of pain killers. I went to Tesco with the trolley and Paul thought that he was going to have an easy time at the dentist as it was just the two crowns to be fitted. Apparently when one of the temporary crowns was removed he nearly hit the roof as the cold air hit the exposed nerves so once again he had to have an injection to dull the pain, new crowns in place and the dentist told Paul that it is very unusual to have 2 crowns fitted in one visit. Dentist was so impressed with Paul he gave him a bravery badge and a lollipop. So that is it now until next check up in 20 years time!!!!!!!!!!
The injection has now worn off and as the crowns fit perfectly over the whole tooth he is at long last pain free. His wallet meanwhile is £1448 lighter.
While in Daventry we met up with Betty who had come from Banbury to deliver my jumper that she had knitted and very nice it is too thanks Betty.
Can't wait to get on the move now been here too long and hopefully we will be able to meet up with Bottle and Woozie nb Oakfield and Betty and Graham nb Tranquility who are both on the Oxford. Have been told that the tunnel is re-opening Friday and there is already a queue of boats waiting to come through so looks like it will be a bit chaotic over the weekend. Country mooring here we come!!!!!!!! Hopefully we will get a better internet signal away from here then Paul will be able to have a decent chat with his brother but it will be an early call on Sunday around 10 am as the GP season starts again. (oh bugger).
Forgot to say the gear box oil has been changed at last.
