Oh what a delight this morning no wind and the sun was shining, just look at this calm canal, a view you never tire of.
We didn't leave till 9.30 this morning and it was relatively quiet, didn't take long to realise that we were on the outskirts of Nuneaton by the amount of rubbish in the canal. Now I may be doing the people of Nuneaton an injustice and this crap may be floating down from somewhere else. The flotsam ranged from traffic cones to bags of garden waste with of course numerous beer cans and vodka bottles. But……. believe it or not we never had to stop once to clear the prop that's 2 days on the trot.
At a couple of bridge holes we managed to meet boats coming the other way and even though we had sounded our horn they never bothered to toot back in acknowledgement. Bit hairy but Paul had it all under control while I had my eyes shut!!!!!!!
It always amazes us when we pass Charity dock at the amount of stuff they have there, the mannequins have been repositioned and re dressed which raises a smile when we go by. We are now at Hawkesbury and I have popped to the little shop for bread and milk. The boat traffic is surprisingly light with the odd hire boat making its way back towards Napton and Rugby.
Found this picture on the camera obviously should have posted it but forgot.
Apparently its a Chubb, they all look the same to me……..
