We’re clean again………

Yes we are smelling sweet  no need to stand down wind of us any more. The tank was filled to capacity at Hillmorton with Paul checking for leaks etc while I walked up to the village to get the post that Jess had sent up. Only problem was it hadn't arrived so I now have to catch the bus from Rugby to Hillmorton tomorrow.

We did have a bit of a clash (not literally) with another boater this morning at a bridge hole, although it was a private boat he didn't appear to know what he was doing. He let the boat in front of us go through, as we were very close to the bridge we just followed. At this point the guy coming the other way decided to barge his way through and to avoid a collision Paul had to do an emergency reverse  which put us into shallow water, the guy on the other boat obviously didn't know any canal etiquette, lucky for me Paul never said a word but avoided eye contact and just muttered under his breath while I was very polite and said “good morning” then swore at them along the lines of “tossers”

We stopped at Clifton Cruisers for diesel and a gas bottle and as they were waiting on a delivery of gas very kindly said they would drop one off to us here at Rugby now that is what I call customer service.

Lid on the water tank has been resealed so that job wont need to be done for  a few more years.

Here at Rugby it is full of boats, talking to a friend of ours he tells us there is now an Elsan point on the park in the old toilet block all spanking new. You need a BW key to use it. Only problem at the moment is there is no designated mooring for the Elsan so until BW get their act together it will be a bit hit and miss but at least there is a sanitary point there again. Weather is great and looks set for a few days so I may be able to get the side of the boat cleaned down although as is always the problem this side of the bridge we are way from the bank. Paul has a list of things to buy from Wickes and we need to go to B & Q to get flooring for the engine room so as usual we will be busy. New Glasses wont be ready until the 8th. I need to see about a new printer scanner as the one I have at the moment the scanner doesn't seem compatible with my notebook which is a bit of a pain as there is nothing wrong with the printer. I might also buy myself an MP3 player so while Paul is watching his old films I can plug myself in and listen to my music without annoying himself.

Oh yes, when we got the new engine we kept the large pulley from the Beta 43 to sell on, so if any one is interested let us know. It enables you run the Travel Pack while on tick over.

For a few days at least Paul will be on the back of the boat fishing he needs to unwind he has been like a coiled spring this past week.
