We spent a lovely weekend at Alvecote with the weather making it even better and the fact we had some nice neighbours. Although Paul says he is going to have a few days off he cant spend the whole day doing nothing. So one day he made some fender hangers out of some spare ply wood that he had. Kept him amused for a few hours and again he has something to show for no outlay. Tuesday we left Alvecote and made it to Sutton Road Bridge where we stopped overnight (as you can see we aren't travelling very far each day). While we were there we had a chat to Kym who makes stainless chimneys. I must say they are the best we have seen and made really well, not cheap but he guarantees them for 5 years so if you weigh up the price of a normal chimney that lasts us a year against one of his there is no comparison.
The chimneys have an inner liner welded in place and the stainless is 2 or 3 mm thick. They are pretty solid and cant be squeezed like a drinks can. Kym works out of his butty Molly and is usually to be found between Fradley and Fazley junctions.
The business is called Little Chimney Company if you pass stop and have a look you wont be disappointed.
As we have a bit of an itinerary, until I have been to Jacks we are only travelling slowly and staying in places longer than we normally would, this is a little bit frustrating but I cant let Jack down, so once the British GP has been and gone we can continue at our usual pace of 3 hours travelling a day not the half an hour that we managed today.
