Don't know if you remember Paul making a cover for the moving parts of the engine to protect the dogs. Here is mark 1:
There was Perspex attached to the piece of wood and it has done the job.
While we were at the Crick show Paul enquired at the Beta stand how much a brass cover would cost and gave them the dimensions. They called us with a price of £1500, now much as Paul would have liked to say yes we couldn't really justify that much money and needless to say Paul already had an idea in his head. The materials were purchased while we were at Rugby and yesterday saw the making of mark 2 and it took all day and the fitting took place this morning, here it is:
A lot of hard work went into this and Paul is very proud of the result such a clever stick my husband. It didn't cost any where near £1500 not even a tenth. Now this is done the floor tiles can be laid when we are in the right frame of mind. While the sun was shining the plank has had its final coat.
We had neighbours overnight but they have gone now and once again we are on our own. Think tomorrow is going to be a restful day, there is MOTOGP and the GP so that's Pauls day sorted. I think I will plug myself into my MP3 player and read my Kindle.

Paul it looks very professional and a heap less expensive. Plus its the satisfaction of knowing you have done it yourself. We are up on the River Weaver at the moment. Its raining, whats new! and we are moored at a lovely spot near Saltersford Lock so makes up for the weather. Regards Chris and Sue
Thanks Chris and Sue comment much appreciated. Paul is chuffed with that. Its raining here too feel sorry for the boaters whizzing past us (I dont think)

I am VERY impressed with your guard! What have you used to make that and how have you managed to get such a uniform bend in it?

Hi Lesley the guard is made from stamped gold adonised aluminium sheet, carefully manipulated (he's a good manipulator!) into the flowing curves (I've got plenty of those) of a well shaped voluptous woman.After fixing together it has then been trimmed with 5/16 copper gas pipe. The fianl result speaks for its self plus a saving of £1400 makes it even better.
