Got wet today.

Yesterday saw us saying goodbye to Ann and Keith they were kind enough to help us through Somerton Deep so for once I was on the boat in a lock what a strange experience it was.

We made our way to Lower Heyford where we managed to moor a couple of boats behind Betty and Graham. Bit noisy here what with the train line and the church chiming the hour. I took the dogs for a nice walk, following the foot path to Steeple Ashton. We saw both Bones and Maffi and were able to bring them up to speed on our tales of woe.

This morning we left the mooring and made for the water tap as we were both low. Were a bit concerned that Oxfordshire Narrow boats were blacking a boat in the water in the bridge hole seemed a bit strange to me. It must have taken us about 3/4 of an hour each to fill up, Betty and Graham set off first leaving us at the tap, it was at this point that it started to rain by the time we got to Dashwood Lock it was rather heavy, our friends had left a paddle open for us so the lock was set which made things a lot easier, same thing at Northbrook Lock. All along this stretch we were pushing mud very shallow at the moment perhaps things will improve with all the rain we are promised.

We caught up around 12.30 and are now moored between bridge 212 and the pipe bridge not far from the quarry. Tomorrow its on to Thrupp and for us Kiddlington. As Paul managed to get the kitchen floor levelled we are hoping to lay the tiles while there. I also want to go into Oxford for a wander need some retail therapy.
