Left Hillmorton around 10 after saying goodbye to Del and Al. I made a quick call to Gosty and we arranged to meet at the prison moorings.
During the journey Paul gave the engine a good work out travelling at 500 revs 700 revs and 900 revs and I am pleased to say that everything performed perfectly with the engine singing and not missing a beat.
Just as we approached the prison Gosty was pulling up to a boat so that was good timing, we moored up and found that nb Twinkle was there sitting on a log darning his socks should have taken a picture was a bit slow there. Next came Sue and Vic on nb No Problem then More to Life and last but not least nb Valerie. So while waiting our turn it was nice to catch up with everyone.
While filling with fuel the conversation turned to diesel prices and of course the dreaded diesel bug. Ian always treats his tank at every fill and as we are now doing the same the diesel was double dosed. Of course the two filter housings were banded about just in case they thought we were telling porkies!
We finally got to Braunston around 1.30 passing Eric on nb Rhonda on the way. We are on our favourite mooring and it isn't too muddy. The field has sheep with their lambs so must make sure the dogs are on their leads when passing through.
It has been such a lovely day for cruising bet it doesn't last but we live in hope.
We went and found Betty and Graham to pay our debt with regard to the housing Graham bought for us and of course to have coffee and cake. Tomorrow they are off down the Oxford we cant leave here until next week so unless they go really slowly I don't think we will catch up with them Anne and Keith are already at Fenny Compton so I expect we will meet up with them on their return journey. Few things we have to do while here and hopefully Jess can send the post up. Paul is well happy because we have all the TV channels so he can get to watch American Hot Rod and the film channel , why is it all the programmes he wants to watch are on at the same time as stuff I want to watch. Sure you can guess who hangs on to the controller and no, it isn’t me!!!!!!!! Get the tele rigged up in the bedroom Paul so I can watch my programmes.
