5 mile hike.

Yesterday the girls went for a walk to Deddington, a five mile round trip from bridge 193. (The crews from Oakfield and Tranquility had done the trip on Friday leaving Paul and I catching up with jobs.) There was a monthly farmers market on so we were hoping for a few bargains. Although the sun wasn't out it was a pleasant walk, the village of Deddington has some lovely houses and the market was in the village square, only problem was by the time we got there they were packing up so we didn't bag any bargains for a smallish village there are 4 pubs, a coffee shop, Co-Op, post office, butchers and an antiques shop also a couple of restaurants. We stopped for a coffee before nipping into the Co-Op and making our return. As we approached the boat we were taking bets as to whether Paul would be asleep as he got up to watch qualifying. Keith and Graham were sat on the tow path so it looked likely that I was right, but no, he was watching an old black and white film which once again he insisted he hadn't seen before, there cant be many left now. We all sat outside with coffee’s and boat cake then retired to Tranquility to have a bit of a warm and to watch the boat race.

Paul has managed to get a few things done. The blow off valve for the calorifier has been fitted, the side hatch doors in the kitchen have been stained and varnished. Paul was hoping to get the green paint out to get the bottom and top of the doors done that had never been painted but it is a bit cold today for that. The kitchen floor was due to get a levelling coat as well but again the chill factor would mean it wouldn't go off quick enough. The small diesel leak has been sorted meant changing the fitting yet again but at least its done.

This morning Betty and Graham set off for Lower Heyford as they have an appointment with a man there tomorrow, Keith and I walked up to Somerton Deep to help with the lock gates  as they are a bit on the heavy side and as they say “many hands make light work”. Don't know if we will move off tomorrow or Tuesday there is no rush after all.
