Here is my eldest son Jamie with Tom. Tom really loves his uncle.

Here he is again and at least the sun is shining . Oh he is such a little cutie.
Which is more than can be said for today. We did manage to get to Rugby in the dry but since about 4 o'clock it has been raining heavily. As I expected we have spent loads today with a mega shop at Tesco, 2 sacks of dog food from the pet store and loads of stuff from Homebase paint, new taps and a new smoke alarm. This was put up and now we cant open the cupboard door in the hall fully as the new alarm is square, old one was round, so it looks like that will have to be moved to another spot.
While I was away Paul gave the batteries their three monthly service and the engine its monthly once over, Paul intends to change the oil and filters while we are at Hilmorton. He also changed the offending brass ferrel on the throttle cable as you can see from the picture it was well worn.
This is due to lack of maintenance over the past 4 years, have you looked at yours lately? It is funny the other things you find when something goes wrong.
Don't think this would have lasted much longer. It was only when the throttle cable broke Paul found this problem.
Its funny how at other times when we have come to Rugby we have struggled to find a mooring spot, today the place is deserted although some have moored up for the night. Even opposite the park there were spaces. And we haven't seen too many hire boats either perhaps this horrible weather is putting people off. Tomorrow its off to Braunston on the bus to pick up my prescription (had it sent to the PO) then back on the bus to Rugby to get prescription dispensed and do a few other bits and pieces must keep away from the shops though. Then it will be onto Hilmorton Thursday morning, Paul has picked the spot we are going to moor as a fellow boater mentioned he had caught a VERY big fish at this place just hope Paul has the same amount of luck, at least the weather is supposed to get better later on in the week so perhaps we can give the boat a good clean, will probably stay at Hilmorton about a week so no reason not too.
