After spending 12 days at Tixall which Paul classes as his “holiday” we moved this morning. I spent the weekend at Jacks as my babysitting services were required for Saturday evening. Jack and Clare had been invited to a party on a trip boat leaving Kingston from 8pm till midnight Clare's comment on their return was “it was nice but I wanted to get off after three hours, once you have seem one bit of river they all look the same”. Not a budding narrow boater then.
So this morning at around 9.15 we set off, at Tixall lock there were three boats in front of us luckily as the boat in front left the lock a boat appeared so they came in which made it easier for us, and when we were leaving another boat was waiting to come down. It has been a glorious day and we managed to squeeze on the end of the moorings at Radford Bank we are by bridge 99. No sooner had we moored up than we caught the bus to B&Q for Paul to return some varnish he had bought then it was a short walk back to get some dog food even shorter bus ride and we were back on the boat. The afternoon has been spent on the tow path making the most of the sunshine and moaning at how hot it is us Brits are never satisfied. Need to go into Stafford while we are here to sort some banking bits out and get a bit of shopping, then it is onwards and upwards to the Shroppie.
