This morning we had one hell of a storm, thunder, lightening, and torrential rain.
Just look at the rain pouring through the scuppers on Grahams boat.
There's always one!!!! Actually there was two and to say they were wet was an understatement.
Water running off the tow path in to the canal.
When we went into Rugley to get the shopping there were quite a few shops closed due to flooding where their ceilings had come down. Where we were once sat on the bottom at the mooring we are now afloat.
This afternoon we have all been sat on the tow path in brilliant sunshine although the wind has got up it is still very humid.
Forgot to mention that while we were moored by bridge 55 Paul and Graham decided to pop over to Kings Bromley Marina to have a look in the chandlery as Paul wanted a few bits. As we were moored on the towpath they had to walk back to b54 cross over the canal and walk a very busy road until they came to the road entrance of the marina. They walked about 200 yards where they came across a set of electrically operated gates and there is no pedestrian gate in view. As luck would have a car was coming out of the marina so Graham and Paul nipped in through the open gate. Where they came across 2 workmen who appeared to be grounds man who they asked if it was okay to go to the chandlery to have a look round. Well, the amount of FLACK they got from one of the guys saying they should have used the intercom (which they never saw) to gain entry and this bloke went on and on about pedestrians damaging the eye sensors and how it cost 4K a time to repair them, at this stage Graham was walking towards the intercom while Paul was getting an earful so in true Paul style he turned round saying to the guy “we will take our business else where and you can poke your chandlery” of course there was a few extra expletives added. If this is the way they treat their customers it is no wonder heresay has it that people are leaving the marina.
