Quiet day in!

We got here on Wednesday and on Friday Betty and Graham arrived on the 48 hour moorings opposite the old BW office. They came aboard for a cuppa and boat cake then we arranged to meet up in the pub that evening for a meal.

The meal was very nice and we spent a pleasant evening together. Saturday morning saw Betty and I walking to Fradley village for a bit of shopping, we had decided that we needed a bit of exercise to walk off the meal we had had. We arrived at the PO in Fradley but there was no other shops, on asking a villager we were told that there was a new Co-Op in the opposite direction so it was about turn. I now know that you need to get off of the canal at b90 go over the canal walk the lane turn left at the end and it is a short walk to a new Co-op which is a reasonable size. We had walked about a mile and a half further than anticipated but at least it didn't rain on us.

Paul has been trying for ages to source some decent Roses for our hatch doors. I don't know if you remember this time last year we thought we had found a decent supplier in Tim Hobbs and ordered and paid for 5 pairs when they arrived they weren't at all what had been ordered and when Paul rang him his attitude was “tough”.  So determined not to be caught again when Paul saw the advert for “the Graphics Boat” he rang, sent emails and generally made a nuisance of himself. Will and Michelle couldn't have been more helpful, proofs were sent for our approval and prices were agreed. Luckily for us they were coming to Fradley by car to do another job so Paul arranged to meet up with them to collect the finished article and here they are.

Engine rooms doors.

Side hatch doors in the galley.

These look so much better than the others we had  and they were all done to the correct dimensions that Paul supplied, we cant praise Will and Michelle enough it is nice to find a company that deliver what the customer wants and not what they want you to have. Paul and Michelle have designed a plaque which is work in progress. They are also doing another job for us but wont elaborate on that until it is finished.

Today we have done absolutely nothing F1 is on of course so Paul is sat in front of the TV. Tomorrow we plan to move as long as it isn't raining of course.
