A year ago today Piston Broke went into the yard for its “stretch.” We only have a few more things to put right perhaps this time next year we can say “thank goodness that’s over”.
We arrived here at Audlem yesterday morning and managed to get moored between locks 14 and 15. We had promised ourselves a meal out and had been told that the Lord Combermere was good so we popped in there for a lunch time pint perused the menu and although the food sounded lovely it was a bit pricey and there wasn't anything that jumped up and grabbed us so we ended up in the Shroppie Fly around 5.30 and had a very nice meal that was reasonable and there was just the right amount on the plate. With the weather being sunshine and showers the touch up paint had to be put on hold although Paul has done a test piece to get the colour of the paint right. Hopefully we can get the scratches painted out at the weekend.
As usual it has been busy here so it looks like an early start is on the cards for the morning.
