Last evening we were sat on the boat minding our own business when all of a sudden there were these people walking the tow path with step ladders. Now this stretch of the canal is quite isolated, you only seem to see dedicated walkers and cyclists not any one out for an evening stroll. So it was strange to see this mob.
Being your typical nosey woman I had to check it out and there they all were on their ladders with cameras pointing at the rail track. Ah ah! now I remembered from last time we were here there was a crowd with cameras waiting for a special train (that didn't turn up!!!!) So what was it this time I asked myself.
Around 7.30 all was revealed when The Orient Express came through. At the same time as a high speed Virgin train going in the opposite direction.
There were all the passengers sitting at the tables but of course my little Sony camera couldn't catch that bit no zoom lens for me I am afraid. Once the train had gone through the trainspotters all packed up and went home.
Today is another blustery day, had a phone call from number 1 son and his partner and her daughters are in Turkey at the moment and guess which travel company they went with yes that’s right Gold trail who have now gone bust. They know their flight home is okay but the transfer from the hotel to the airport is a bone of contention at the moment as they have been told they will have to pay again. Only saving grace is at least they got the holiday thousands haven’t been so lucky.
