Today was haircut day shopping day and meet up with Anne and Keith for lunch day.
The haircut went okay except just as the hairdresser was finishing there was this scary face with his nose pressed up against the window why do husbands have to embarrass you? Paul had gone to City Electricals to get his armoured clips and some other bits “wont cost much” he reckons “only a couple of quid” total £16 just a tad more than a couple of quid.
For ages we have had our dongle inserted in a toothpaste tube shoved up the coil of an old CB ariel this has been working a treat. During the cold weather signal got a bit intermittent so we put it down to the cold and bought the dongle inside. We did find that there was a bit of condensation so Paul came up with the idea that if the dongle was inserted (I use the word loosely) into a condom it would make it watertight. When Paul suggested this I refused to be the buyer of the condoms. So while we were all sat in Wetherspoons Paul gathered his change together and trotted off to the gents. He returned pretty quick moaning that he needed 3 pound coins for the machine. Any one overhearing the conversation probably thought he was mad. He was gone for about 5 minutes and back he came muttering that the machine was empty AND it had kept one of his pound coins. Not only that there was a guy in the gents who remarked “you aren't having much luck are you” “no” says Paul and they aren't going to be used in the normal way. We are going to put our dongle in one”. You can imagine the guys face especially if he didn't know what a dongle was. “it will keep it watertight” That's a good idea was the reply “I think I will put my dongle in one” The mind boggles, we were all laughing so much as Paul related this tale we were getting some funny looks. We could just imagine Paul hitting the machine as it ate his money without giving up the condoms and this man using the facilities seeing a 64 year old man taking his anger out on said machine.
While eating our lunch we noticed that Anne and Keith has joined the ranks of shopping trolley owners, a very smart checked bag one. Now we have an ongoing joke with Keith that it is about time he made himself a roof box ( they very rarely put stuff on their roof lucky people). As they have been aboard for over a year now we think it is about time a box was made, this would accommodate the trolley and if the box is big enough even more clutter could be put in it.
How did we solve the problem of the condom? Well I was given instructions to buy latex gloves and a finger of one could cover the dongle and the connection. Needless to say the fingers aren't big enough so it looks like Paul will have to visit another gents toilet in a pub sometime. ( I didn't tell him there was a machine in the ladies!!!!!)
Just seen a very welcome sight as Ian and Alison on Gosty have pulled up along side. Time to replenish the coal and the diesel.

Oh that just made us cry with laughter!!!
Now then....
I just can't wait to see where you are going to stick this condom!!
If I come past and it is stuck up in the air somewhere on the roof I apologise in advance for the total lack of control of NP due to the skipper doubled up!
You could try the chemist!
The idea is inconceivable ;-)
Terrific laughs have been had, although we know a chap who had an ear infection that had to be kept dry, he had a brainwave that a condom would provide suitable protection to allow a shower, the condom had other ideas and put up a fight....
Would cling film not worked? And anyway what's wrong with a 64 year old needing a condom? I bet there was envy in that pub as well as helplessly laughing women!
Keep up the good work,
Lisa
Have you tried dangling your dongle out in the cratch? Ours seems to work out there, most of the time.
