Wheaton Aston.

We have been up with the lark the past two mornings. Yesterday saw us leaving Calf Heath at 8.30 which really is unheard of for us. We cruised for a whole 4 hours which as far as we are concerned is way to long. We wanted to get to Wheaton by Wednesday hence the long day. We found a nice mooring between bridges 7 and 8 on the Shroppie, 48hour with rings, when we turned up at midday there was only us, by 5pm you couldn't have squeezed another boat in. Now this is quite a long stretch I think there was 6 in front of us and 5 behind and all but one facing the same way as us so we knew that we would have to have another early start to beat the rush.

Paul had a really successful evening fishing and we have ear marked that spot for our return journey.

This morning it was a bit on the breezy side and we were the first away at 8.45 we have passed quite a few old work boats returning from Audlem luckily not in any bridge holes. At Wheaton the lock was in our favour and a passing dog walker opened the gate for us so it was straight in. When we left the lock there was quite a queue with 4 old boats and butties amongst them.

As we had only come up here to get some cheap diesel Paul winded and reversed onto the mooring at Turners, diesel today was 71.9p. We are now moored up on the 48hour moorings before the sanitary station. These early starts have really taken it out of us!!!!!!!!!
