The past few weeks have been spent…at the dentist….at the doctors….lunching with friends and CLEANING. This boat has been cleaned to within an inch of its life for tomorrow the broker is coming with his camera. Yesterday we had a phone call confirming said appointment and were told “ make sure there isn't any clutter”. CLUTTER my bits aren't clutter they are STUFF. Stuff that I treasure, presents from the kids and grandkids that to me are precious. Paul certainly doesn't have any clutter in the engine room he has TOOLS and BITS what man can do without his bits……..
So now the cupboards are full to bursting with things that this broker would class as “clutter”. Not everything has been destined for the cupboard mind you, after all this is our home and we feel it needs to shown as such, not an empty space but one that looks lived in and loved. So, if they want empty shelves they can move the items snap away then put them back. Ok I appreciate that the boat has to be shown in its best light to encourage people to come and view but I want it nice and homely not clinical, is that such a bad thing?
Paul is not looking forward to to Thursday as he has finally received his appointment for his CT scan and he doesn't know what they might find. Could it be…… his wallet or even the mobile phone he lost??????? Lets hope they find NOTHING.

- After years of working,Paul and I retired early. I worked in accounts departments and Paul spent 39 years as an Electrical Mechanical engineer in the industrial refrigeration industry. Paul also served time as a refrigeration engineer officer with P&O, to-ing and fro-ing to NZ. In 2001 we decided to move to Spain where we bought an old Spanish finca that needed total renovation. We took our 1500 Goldwing with us to Spain planning to explore the country. But because of the amount of work that needed doing to the finca we were unable to get full use of our lovely motorbike. So it was shipped back to England where it was sold. It took us 3 1/2 years to finish the house, by which time Paul was hankering after another bike so we bought a new Honda VTX 1300 cruiser which was a pleasure to use with our biker friends. In 2007 the writing was on the wall so we decided to return to the UK and bought our lovely narrowboat which was a big step for me as I had never dreamt of living on a narrowboat. Paul has had sailing boats in the past and regulary crewed on a Medway Bawley Gaffer and raced in many local events. We are continuous cruisers planning to explore as much as we can.

I'm with you Lynne. Besides your boat is a lovely home--warm, and very well organized. Any boater would be lucky to live on it. As a veteran of my share of CT Scans I know how stressful this can be. Wishing you well Paul with good results.
