We took advantage of travelling today as there wasn't a breath of wind and looking at the forecast after today the wind is getting up quite a lot. Okay it was raining but it was very mild. All the boat traffic seemed to be heading for Braunston so we had no problem finding a mooring. We saw Jacqui nb Timewarp and Bernie nb Twinkle on our way through.
We also passed a few fisherman by the motorway bridge, now what is it about fisherman on the bank. You cruise past them really slowly ask how many fish they have caught and all you get in reply is a grunt or usually no eye contact at all. Today I put it down to them fishing in the rain and not catching anything or maybe it was Paul shouting that he had caught 46 fish at Braunston I suppose that would be enough to p*** any one off.
Just past Barby straight is a field that has been planted with Christmas trees, at the moment they are about 18 inches high so have quite a few more years growth before they adorn someone's lounge, don't suppose we will be around when they are cut…….
Looks like we will be spending a quiet New Years eve still at our age that is probably for the best. Gone are the days where we could stay up into the wee small hours celebrating, now it is into bed by 10.30 oh how boring are we!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
